With a philosophy rooted in sustainability, ALINE Architecture Concepts co-founder Brian Laubenthal designs healthy spaces that are in harmony with their environment, bringing a heightened awareness to even the simplest of projects. His love for eco-conscious architecture developed at a young age, leading to a career in commercial, residential and hospitality design. A LEED Accredited Professional and member of the AIA, Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in architectural studies from the University of Michigan before completing a Master of Architecture at Arizona State University.
In 2010, Brian founded ALINE Architecture with his business partner Brian Krob. ALINE’s core values are craft, community, collaboration, and care for our environment. Some of his favorite completed adaptive reuse projects are Arizona Wilderness DTWN PHX, the Chasse Building Team headquarters, and the Clayton House event venue. With strong expertise in hospitality design, ALINE has completed over 400 restaurants around Arizona, including the new Chula Seafood, Clever Ramen, Jin Jia, Bourbon and Bones, and The Eleanor. Currently, his team has two new development projects underway -- Goodyear Civic Square, a 40,000+-square-foot retail and hospitality project in Goodyear, Arizona; and Northside, a 36,000+ square-foot development bringing new restaurant and retail spaces to Gilbert, Arizona.
Motivated by a passion for design and an obsession with organization, Brian feels a strong desire to help people and the environment. He volunteers his time to mentor high school students interested in architecture and to local non-profits including Rosie’s House, Live Love, and the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children. He is also involved in his church’s continued growth and master planning. Brian has a strong belief in life work balance, making time to coach his boys' soccer, take them to construction sites, and spend time with his amazing wife Kristi.
