As Principal Architect and Founder at Murphy Partners Seniors Housing Architects, Bob has both a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Waterloo. He founded the original firm, A. Robert Murphy Architect Inc., in 1984. With experience in commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties, Bob found his niche with his very first seniors housing project in 1985. Since then, he has spent over 35 years honing his craft, both in design and in creatively approaching Seniors Housing projects with the skills and knowledge of a specialist architect.

Bob's passion for providing beautiful, safe, functional housing for seniors comes from his lifelong admiration for the "greatest generation" - and his charitable work shows it. He is a frequent donor to a variety of fundraising events for Seniors.

As Principal Architect, Bob is actively engaged in every assignment the firm undertakes. He ensures all projects translate successfully from the planning and design stage into construction and beyond. He establishes and maintains positive relationships with key stakeholders throughout their duration to see that each project runs smoothly and resolves any concerns promptly and efficiently. He leads the design team to prepare working drawings and specifications and allocates staff resources to ensure project commitments are delivered on time and in keeping with best practices. Bob particularly loves the Construction Site, because that is where ideas become reality, and he plays an active role in the Field Review and Site Meetings for every project.
